Isle of Man Candy

{J f, 2006}   C’est Friday…C’est la Vie…

And if that means 'boozey lunch day' head straight down to C'est la vie on Victoria Street in Douglas.  The sunshine pours in the open French doors as the punters lounge on comfy sofas pouring amber elixirs down their thirsty throats.  Bankers in shirtsleeves, brokers in Tees…spring is finally here. Sigh. We arrive just before one o'clock and head straight upstairs for the best view of the gorgeous barmen to watch them ply their trade (are they all from central casting?)  Chilled chardonnay is served in near pint-sized glasses.  Bliss. Food arrives…bagettes all round…carby delights.  Thai fish cakes are nice for lighter appetites.  We eat. We drink. We make merry.  A one-hour lunch becomes almost two…time to head back to work. For a Friday lunchtime… C'est la vie, c'est parfait!.
