{J f, 2006}   Downunder in Douglas: Outback Bar

Crikey…walking into the Outback Bar in Barrack Street in Douglas is just like walking into a pub in Alice Springs! We were looking for a fun night out and ended up at this sports bar. There are tons of different beers.  Not just from Oz but from all over. Everyone was watching football on the big screens and the place had a really great atmosphere. I was sooooooooooo happy to see Victoria Bitter, my fave Aussie libation. The DJ was pretty good, but I hear they have live bands on a Thursday night.  I'm gonna go back for sure. Kangaroo

[…] We decided to pop into the Rovers Return on Church Street in Douglas after work last night. I thought it might be a bit of a laff…might see some Coronation Street types, you know. But what a disappointment.  The tiny, dark bar was full of old men smoking and staring; staring and smoking. Yuck!  And the barman didn’t put a lemon in my G&T.  I ask you…how much can a lemon cost?  The loos were way upstairs and hard to find. Then once I got in, there was no TP!After one swifty, we got the heck out of there and headed straight to The Outback.  I won’t be returning to the Rovers Return. iomcandy @ 7:11 am [filed under Things to do, Pubs, Isle of Man, Outback Bar, Rovers Return, Coronation Street […]
