Isle of Man Candy

An young actor from Peel has been cast in the Briitsh movie Risen, the story of boxing legend Howard Winstone.  He lost his fingers (gross!) and still went on to win a whole bunch of major boxing titles.  John Noble and Stuart Brennen also star in the movie which is  filming in south Wales.Grainne Joughin

Grainne Joughin went to school at Queen Elizabeth II High School and hung out at the Manx Multimedia Centre.  Since then she’s worked in the theatre, on TV and in films.

Grainne was quoted in the local paper, “This is a really big role for me, and it was quite daunting on the first day, stepping onto the set, and it’s just wow.”

I couldn’t have said it better myself!  We are all soooooooo proud of you Grainne.

{J f, 2006}   I love John Malkovich

He is deffo one of my fave actors.  And, he’s in the Isle of Man right now! Shooting on his new movie, Mutant Chronicles, starts here tomorrow.  I luv luv luvved him in Dangerous Liaisons and in Being John Malkovich. And I hope to run into him on Strand Street.

This isn’t his first visit to the Island; he’s been here at least twice before.  Once to make The Libertine and the second time was to make Colour Me Kubrick. So he must really, really like us.

So John, here’s to seeing you in Paparazzi or maybe Crush is more to your taste?

John Malkovich

{J f, 2006}   …it pours!

Well it looks like the rain has settled in for while.  I figure…let's go to the Cinema!

At the Palace we've got The Da Vinci Code or MI:III and tonight a special presentation of The House of Tiny Daggers (from Hong Kong). At the Broadway, we've got romcom Prime.  I guess we are a bit spoiled for choice.  Which one should I see tonight?  Prime
