Isle of Man Candy

{J f, 2006}   I’m moving!

Yup it’s true. I’m packing my bags and moving on. The good news is you’re all invited! Lots of people have been posting recently and most of the feedback (unless you’re into amdram…in all senses of the word) is really positive.

So I’ve decided to move to a host with a bit more freedom in the types of material I can post. It’s sooooooooooo exciting.

This will be my last post here but you can find all the old stuff and ALL THE NEW STUFF such as videos, mp3s at www.iomcandy.com

{J f, 2006}   Loverly tomatoes

TomatoCandy is always letting her readers know what’s cool and where to go.  Now I need some info from you.

Where in the Isle of Man can you get the best fresh produce?  I mean, like a farmers’ market.  Where do you folks go to buy locally-grown tomatoes and other salad freshies?  At this time of year, the stuff that Tesco’s imports just doesn’t cut it.  It all tastes sooooooooooooooooo hot house.

Let us know!

{J f, 2006}   Lost weekend

Ohmigawd it’s been days since my last post.  I’ve had a bit of a ‘lost weekend’ you know the ones…party after party…till it all gets a bit blurry?  Pint

Here are some of the places we hit over the weekend.    The Archibald Knox in Onchan…lot’s of old men staring into space. The Cat with No Tail…is it just me or is everyone here related to each other? The Woodbourne Hotel…I sneaked into the men’s bar! The Hawthorne Inn…the food is delish.

Well you get the picture!

Hey!  Did you know that Thursday is half-price fajita nght at Fiesta Havana on Wellington Street in Douglas?  Yup!  That means two can dine for £12.99 and the food is soooooooo yummy!  You just have to watch the number of Coronas you pour down your throat, which can run up the bill.  And the service is quick too, so we’re going in tonight before we head to the Traf for the Battle of the Bands. It’s going to be a great night out!

Oooooooooooh!  I just found out about cool programme being run by the IoM Dep’t of Tourism and Leisure.  TT Homestay sees motorsport fans being billeted with Island residents. I figure it’s a great way for people to get involved with the TT, even if they are not into bikes (like moi!). And, you can make a little dosh on the side too.

I’m gonna look into it.  www.isleofmantourism.com or ring HomeStay on 01624 686802.

{J f, 2006}   Should Candy live?

I’m thinking about finishing Candy off and starting fresh.  I want to use adsense…so I’ll have to move from wordpress hosting.  And I keep getting v creepy emails from people looking for man candy…whatever that is.  So I’m wondering about the appropriateness of this url.

But, dear reader, if you protest, you can save Candy. Do you find her useful, interesting, etc?  I’m away for a few days and will not be posting.  When I get back, if there are enough comments of support, I’ll let Candy live.  If not, she swings. swinging

Let me know.  Mwah!

{J f, 2006}   I like a bit of CAKE!

Oh my.  I've just had a lovely bit of cake served up on my RSS from a company called Elegant Cheesecakes. It's Mother's Day in America next week and so they've combined two of my fave things…handbags and cheesecake.  Yum and Yum. I want one! Gimme cake! Gotta have a bit of cake!

Where can I get on in the Island of Man? Does anyone know?Handbag

(hat tip to Nicole Weston at the Luxist)

I said to myself, "Candy, bikini weather is just around the corner…you need to tone up!"  So off I go Carrefour in Douglas to find a lunch hour workout that will get me in shape, but not leave me puffed…Pilates

Well this is interesting.  We hardly move, but break a sweat anyway. Lift your leg, hold.  Raise your shoulders, hold. Tip your knee, hold. My pelvic floor has never been in better shape!

Well, I can't see the winter fat falling off from Pilates, but the class sure is is fun fun fun!  And if it's going to tone me up…I'll be back! (Maybe I should jog down to the gym?) Pilates

Springtime is in the air and young lady's fancy turns to…ahem!  Well, lets just say today I want to go shopping for lingerie!

Soooooo many tiny pretty things in the stores, it was hard to choose so I get three sets.  I stroll down Strand Street wondering where I should go…no to McKay's….no to M&S…then I see it.  The lovely pink letters beckoning me in…Ann Summers.  It's not just Rampant Rabbits and Naughty Nurses at Ann's you know!  She has some very lovely stuff.

I spend an hour trying things on and decided on three "outfitsMy new togs".  I didn't think I'd be post a photo of myself, but on this occasion I'll make an exception.  What do you think of what I got?
