Castle Rushen…a great day out

Yesterday we drove down south to Castletown and toured Castle Rushen. It was really worth the trip.  It’s soooooooo old….they think it was originally built around 1200 and all kinds of kings and lords have lived there.  They’ve done up some rooms to make the castle look like it did when kings lived there. Apparently they used to eat “pigg” and “pickl’d carrots”. Later it was used as a debtors prison and we saw some of the cells that people were kept in. 

It’s really well preserved. I’ve seen other castles in England, Wales and Ireland and none of them nearly as good as this one.  And the people working there are v friendly and know a lot about the castle. 

There is a nice little pub across the street to have a drinkie after the tour.  Lets hope the rain stops today!

They call it puppy love…

Jacuzzis for doggies have arrive in the Isle of Man!  The next time your little poochie has a sore leg or a stiff back you can bring him to Hydropaws in Castletown. (Get the vet to check him out first.) 

Owner Liz Stone puts the pups in personal floatation coats and jumps in the water with them, to make sure they get a good workout. But what's sooooooo cool about Hydropaws is that is helps fight pet obesity too. So if you are too lazy to walk your fat dog, Liz will take him for a swim for you.  I think I'll get her to take my little Bootsie for a dip!
